Item:

Custom handmade Damascus steel knife and hand-tooled leather sheath.

Description:

Maker Chad Cunningham forged this Damascus steel knife in his Cross Plains, Texas,
shop. The handle is made of antique paper
micarta, designed to fit easily into one’s palm. The knife blade is distinctive
with an intricate pattern that depicts the uniqueness of the Damascus style of
forging; no design is duplicated. Damascus style steel has a 17-century
history. It is created by layering metals, light and dark, in an inch or so
wide block, called a billet. Then, the metal billet is heated and pounded
together, repeating this process until the metals are forged into one thin
piece. The process is intensive, creating a one-of-a-kind tool.

The handmade leather sheath is customized to fit the knife and can be looped onto a belt for easy access. The sheath is water resistant and made of durable hide for longevity.
